Friends, Lovers, & the Big Terrible Thing

“Hi, my name is Matthew, although you may know me by another name. My friends call me Matty, and I should be dead. If you like, you can consider what you’re about to read to be a message from the beyond, my beyond.

If you know me, you know I like reading. When I say this is the most shocking opening of a book I have ever read, it means something. If my scholar friends forgive me, I put this next to the feeling I had when I opened A Tale of Two Cities and started reading

“It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of light, it was the season of darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair.”

It is not the most cheerful book to read, but damn Matthew Perry wrote a great book! It is called Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing. And pretty much it is about Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing. I am at chapter 1 so won't jump to any more conclusions.
