The funding supports the development of a groundbreaking solution focused on enhancing insect reproduction, as part of the project titled:
“Volatile odor compounds and light spectrum as factors intensifying the reproduction of H. illucens, with verification of the developed technology under production conditions,”
under the SMART Pathway – II Call within the European Funds for the Modern Economy 2021–2027 program.
The project, running from October 4, 2023, to the end of 2026, has a total cost of PLN 12.15 million, with PLN 11.52 million of eligible expenses. It includes industrial research and development activities aimed at identifying odor compounds, pheromones, and optimal light spectra to boost reproduction rates of the black soldier fly (Hermetia illucens). The ultimate goal is to develop and validate a production-ready technology.
“We possess strong scientific capabilities and continuously invest in R&D across multiple areas. We are also actively applying for further grants to create and implement new solutions. We are building functional feed components that shape next-generation animal nutrition — and we aim to do it even better,”
said Rafał Prendke, CEO of HiProMine.
