Zaklepuje. To, a startup founded by a Warsaw University of Technology student, unveils SUPOMAT — Poland’s first self-service SUP board rental station operating around the clock.
In a move to modernize recreational equipment rental, Polish startup Zaklepuje. To has launched SUPOMAT, a 24/7 self-service Stand Up Paddle (SUP) board rental station located by the Żyrardów Reservoir, just 10 meters from the beach. Inspired by the user experience of e-scooters and food delivery apps, SUPOMAT allows users to spontaneously rent paddleboards without staff or paperwork, entirely via smartphone

The startup, founded by Jakub Jażdżyk, a student of Electronics and Information Technology at the Warsaw University of Technology, aims to solve a common pain point: outdated, rigid rental systems with limited hours and cumbersome booking processes.
Here’s how SUPOMAT works:
Users scan a QR code on the station, launch a web-based interface (no app download required), and select a board.
Online payment is processed instantly, with a refundable deposit held on the user’s card.
A temporary code unlocks a cabinet containing a full SUP kit: board, adjustable paddle, safety vest, and fin.
After use, the equipment is returned and verified through the system, with charges calculated hourly.
SUPOMAT’s launch was made possible in collaboration with the local water utility Aqua and represents the first step in a broader rollout strategy. The founders are now scouting marinas, hotels, and lakeside venues across Poland interested in deploying similar stations.
Beyond the SUPOMAT, Zaklepuje. To is no newcomer. Operating under the tech company FIRSTSCORE, the team has been active for over two years, providing reservation software to kayak rental businesses. Their B2B platform is used by dozens of companies in Poland.
This venture into hardware marks a significant milestone — transforming a digital-first business into a physical product provider. The SUPOMAT project has already received recognition in academic entrepreneurship competitions such as BraveCamp and Enactus, positioning the company at the intersection of sport, mobility, and smart city innovation.
With ambitious plans to scale and a vision for seamless outdoor access, SUPOMAT is redefining how Poles experience their lakes, rivers, and reservoirs — no reservation required.
