Polish-American Spacelift secures $51 million Series C funding to advance AI-powered orchestration for complex infrastructure systems.

Spacelift, a Polish-American infrastructure orchestration platform, has raised $51 million (approx. €47.5M) in Series C funding to accelerate its mission of simplifying enterprise infrastructure management through AI-driven automation. The round was led by Five Elms Capital, with participation from Endeavor Catalyst and Inovo VC.

Founded in 2019 by Paweł Hytry and Marcin Wyszyński, Spacelift offers a unified platform to manage the entire infrastructure lifecycle—provisioning, configuration, and governance. Its AI-powered solution integrates with popular DevOps tools such as Terraform, OpenTofu, Ansible, and Pulumi, enabling companies to scale quickly while maintaining strict control, compliance, and visibility.

Spacelift’s value proposition is rooted in automation, policy enforcement (via OPA), developer self-service, and the creation of golden paths that streamline workflows without compromising infrastructure security. By reducing complexity and operational burden, the platform supports industries ranging from finance and healthcare to public administration.

The platform is trusted by global enterprises including NYSE, Volkswagen, Duolingo, Moody’s, Axel Springer, and 1Password. With operations based in Redwood City, California, and Warsaw, Spacelift continues to build its team remotely, focusing on software engineering and product development roles.

“As infrastructure complexity grows exponentially, enterprises are seeking more intuitive and intelligent ways to manage their environments. This funding propels our vision forward, empowering organizations to effortlessly realize infrastructure goals through AI-powered automation,” said Paweł Hytry, CEO and co-founder of Spacelift.

The investment will be used to accelerate product development, expand enterprise adoption, and grow its global team, especially in engineering and customer success.

Beyond enterprise traction, Spacelift plays a critical role in the open-source ecosystem—especially as a core contributor to OpenTofu, an alternative to Terraform. Since its release in August 2023, OpenTofu has recorded over 10 million downloads and sees weekly usage exceeding 350,000 downloads, with major adoption from Oracle, Cisco, and Fidelity Investments.

Joe Onofrio, Partner at Five Elms Capital, commented: “Spacelift is redefining the automation landscape with its unique, AI-integrated approach. Their vision of connecting human intent to infrastructure execution is positioning them as a future leader in the category.”

Maciej Małysz, Partner at Inovo VC, added: “Having supported Spacelift from the earliest days, we believe the company’s neutral position—unaffiliated with any cloud provider—makes it a flexible and trusted partner. This new funding will solidify its position as a global leader in infrastructure management.”

With this raise, Spacelift is primed to shape the future of infrastructure-as-code, combining automation, openness, and enterprise-grade security.
