Reality Games Raises $4.7M

Reality Games Raises $4.7M to Launch Location-Based Monopoly World.

Reality Games has secured a $4.7 million seed round to accelerate the development of Monopoly World, a location-based mobile game that transforms the iconic board game into an interactive real-world experience. The funding, backed by angel investors and strategic partners, will enable the company to expand globally, enhance AI-driven gameplay, and integrate real-world economic elements into the game.

Bringing Monopoly to the Real World

Powered by big data, AI, and geolocation technology, Monopoly World reimagines the classic board game by allowing players to buy, sell, and trade over 100 million real-world locations. Unlike traditional Monopoly, the game introduces a ‘walk-to-earn’ mechanic that encourages exploration. Players earn in-game currency by moving around their cities, which can be used to unlock brand promotions, loyalty rewards, and real-world benefits.

With successful soft launches in Poland and the Philippines, Reality Games is now focusing on global expansion. The funding will support scaling AI solutions, expanding partnerships with global brands, and refining the in-game economy.

Strategic Investors and Industry Backing

The investment comes from Republic angel investors, Polish venture firm Unfold VC, and Swiss private equity firm Acquinox. Backed by Hasbro and leveraging Monopoly’s 99% global brand recognition, the game has the potential to redefine the mobile gaming market.

Reality Games also boasts an impressive advisory board, including:

  • Peter Moore – Former CEO of Liverpool FC, ex-COO of Electronic Arts, and a key figure in launching the Sega Dreamcast and Xbox 360.

  • Janusz Moneta – Former VP of Global Ads Marketing at Google, specializing in digital advertising and business development.

  • Nav Sunner – Former Head of Legal at Codemasters and Commercial Director at Microsoft.

  • Yariv Adan – Former Google AI Product Lead, contributing AI expertise to enhance game mechanics.

  • Mariusz Gasiewski – Angel investor and Head of Apps & Games at Google CEE.

A Step Toward Series A and Global Expansion

“This $4.7 million seed round paves the way for Reality Games’ upcoming Series A, fueling our next stage of growth,” said Zbigniew Woznowski, CEO of Reality Games. “With Monopoly’s global recognition and our expertise in geolocation gaming, we are creating a category-defining experience that seamlessly connects players with real-world retail offers like never before.”

Founded in 2015, Reality Games has grown through its Landlord series, which boasts over 30 million downloads. The company now has 65 employees across offices in London, UK, and Kraków, Poland.

What’s Next for Monopoly World?

Having surpassed 20,000 downloads in early market tests, Monopoly World is now preparing for an expanded global rollout. With a unique mix of AI-driven real estate valuation, interactive property trading, and real-world economic mechanics, the game is set to create an entirely new way for players to engage with the world around them.

As Reality Games moves toward Series A funding, the company aims to solidify its position as a leader in location-based mobile gaming, merging entertainment, strategy, and real-world commerce into an immersive experience.
