Asynchronics Secures Funding to Launch Digital-Twin Marketplace for Space Industry

Polish startup Asynchronics raises pre-seed funding from Sunfish Partners and HEARTFELT_ to accelerate development of open-source simulation tools and digital-twin marketplace for spacecraft systems.

Warsaw-based Asynchronics, a space-tech startup building open-source tools for simulating complex systems, has raised an undisclosed pre-seed funding round co-led by Sunfish Partners and HEARTFELT_. The funding will support the development of a digital-twin marketplace designed specifically for the space industry.

Founded in 2022 by Serge Barral and Adam Chikha, Asynchronics is the creator of NeXosim, an open-source simulation engine that enables engineers to build high-fidelity digital models—so-called digital twins—of satellite systems and components. These models replicate physical behavior in a virtual environment, allowing developers to test spacecraft subsystems before manufacturing or launch.

The company’s next major milestone is the launch of a digital-twin marketplace, enabling engineers to browse and deploy certified, ready-made models of satellite parts. This platform will offer simulation-ready modules from hardware manufacturers and verified contributors—dramatically reducing time-to-deployment and development costs in the space sector.

The startup’s mission aligns with the European Union’s 2030 Space Policy, which emphasizes sovereign simulation infrastructure as critical to the continent’s strategic autonomy. Asynchronics is building a European alternative to traditional U.S.-dominated platforms, offering a collaborative, open-source, and Rust-powered simulation ecosystem.

“We’re not just building another simulator. We’re building the infrastructure and marketplace that will power a new wave of collaboration, speed, and resilience in satellite development,” said co-founder Serge Barral.

COO Adam Chikha added, “This investment is the fuel that allows us to execute our vision. We’re scaling the team right now and targeting a public launch of the marketplace in Q3 2025.”

The funding round was co-led by Sunfish Partners, a Berlin- and Warsaw-based VC firm focused on deep-tech in CEE, and HEARTFELT_, Europe’s “first cheque” fund supporting high-potential early-stage startups.

Max Moldenhauer, Managing Partner at Sunfish Partners, commented:

“Asynchronics is building the essential infrastructure for the next generation of space technology. Their open-source approach with NeXosim, combined with the power of Rust, is exactly what the industry needs to move faster and more collaboratively.”

Henric Hungerhoff, General Partner at HEARTFELT_, noted:

“What impressed us is their deep understanding of the challenges in space engineering. The digital-twin marketplace will redefine how spacecraft systems are developed.”

The new funding will be used to expand Asynchronics’ engineering team, improve the capabilities of NeXosim, and onboard early hardware manufacturers and model developers.
