Announced on May 14, 2025, the agreement marks a pivotal step in Poland’s quest for sovereign radar imaging and intelligence, granting the country independent, round-the-clock access to real-time Earth observation—regardless of weather or lighting conditions.

In addition to satellite delivery, ICEYE will work with Polish industry to deploy a mobile Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) platform that includes real-time tasking, data retrieval, and analytical capabilities. The aim is to enable faster, more autonomous decision-making in both military and civilian contexts.

“ICEYE is proud to strengthen defense capabilities in Poland with cutting-edge SAR satellites. Our system is built for rapid, sovereign, and shared intelligence operations that can support both national and allied defense networks,” said Rafał Modrzewski, CEO and Co-founder of ICEYE.

“This is a great day for the Polish Armed Forces and Poland,” said Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz. “We are gaining full independence in radar reconnaissance. ICEYE, founded by a Pole, offers the best capabilities globally. Freedom and independence will only be defended by sovereignty and innovation.”

ICEYE operates the largest SAR satellite constellation in the world, with 48 satellites launched to date. Its high-resolution imaging—up to 25 cm—allows for precise detection of objects and changes on the ground. Its clients span defense, security, insurance, maritime, and environmental sectors.

The Finnish-headquartered company has a strong footprint in Poland and globally, with offices across Europe, North America, Asia, and the Middle East, and employs over 700 people.

This agreement not only equips Poland with world-class ISR capabilities, but also reinforces Europe’s collective space defense strategy. ICEYE’s systems allow for interoperability with allied nations, laying the groundwork for collaborative space monitoring and enhanced regional security.
