MidEuropa, one of Central and Eastern Europe’s most established private equity firms, has exited companies worth over €4 billion in just the last six months—marking a historic period of realizations in the firm’s 26-year history. Now, the firm is preparing to launch its sixth fund with a target capitalization of up to €800 million, positioning itself for fresh acquisitions in Poland and across the CEE region.

The fund has already secured a €200 million commitment from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and will focus on growth investments in consumer, healthcare, and business services. The strategy aims to back resilient, high-potential businesses that can scale through digitalization, operational excellence, and international expansion.

“After successful exits, it’s time to deploy capital again. We’re targeting companies in the €100M–€500M range and aim to close at least two new investments this half-year,” says Marek Rodak, Partner at MidEuropa.

The recent €4 billion in exits included six transactions:

  • Profi, a Romanian grocery chain, sold to an industry investor for over €1 billion

  • Diagnostyka, Poland’s leading diagnostics firm, debuted on the Warsaw Stock Exchange with a valuation exceeding €1 billion

  • Sales of Regina Maria (Romanian hospital chain) and Optegra (ophthalmology clinics), each exceeding €1 billion

  • Exits from Cargus (Romanian courier firm) and Mlinar (Croatian bakery group)

Headquartered in London with a significant presence in Warsaw, MidEuropa has raised €6.5 billion, invested in 46 companies across 20 countries, and supported over 290 add-on acquisitions. Previous Polish investments include iconic names like Allegro, Żabka, LuxMed, and Diagnostyka.

With an investment range between €50 million and €300 million, MidEuropa partners with ambitious management teams to build sector leaders. Their flexible approach includes majority and minority deals, with an emphasis on consolidation, international expansion, and sustainable growth. The firm employs a team of 50 professionals across five offices and speaks 19 languages—blending Western best practices with deep regional insights.

MidEuropa continues to shape the private equity landscape in Central Europe, and with a new fund on the horizon, Poland remains its key market for future investments and long-term transformation.
