Ringing in the future with hands-free payment
Bank Pekao launches 70,000 wearable payment rings to modernize contactless transactions
Bank Pekao is set to distribute 70,000 wearable payment rings this summer, allowing users to pay or withdraw cash with just a tap of the hand—no phone, card, or battery required.
The rings, branded as Peoring, are waterproof, battery-free, and function at any terminal supporting contactless transactions. This hands-free payment solution is part of Pekao’s broader campaign to modernize banking experiences and attract a new wave of tech-savvy customers.

“We’re trying to stay ahead with technology, and as part of our package of services and promotions… we’re offering a ring device that makes life more convenient,” said Pekao CEO Cezary Stypułkowski. “We’ll be the first bank in Poland to offer this.”
Customer acquisition through wearable tech
The Peoring is offered free of charge to new customers as part of a promotional push, and existing account holders can get it at a discount. Pekao’s vice-president Błażej Szczecki emphasized the ring’s strategic role in helping the bank meet its ambitious customer growth goal—reaching 700,000 new clients by 2027.
“We’ve ordered 70,000 rings and we hope to sign up that many customers by the end of the holiday season,” said Szczecki. “If demand is significantly higher, we’ll deliver more.”
Made by Laks and Pagopace, two companies known for pioneering wearable payment solutions, the ring marks another milestone in Pekao’s legacy of firsts. The bank introduced Poland’s first credit card in 1995 and launched the country’s first multi-currency card two decades later.
With Peoring, Bank Pekao aims to keep its edge in the digital banking race, delivering convenience, style, and innovation in a single gesture.
