Outline AI and Poliglotter Awarded at Infoshare 2025

Italian biotech startup wins Infoshare’s €20K prize while local competition highlights urban planning AI and language learning overlay for Netflix

At Infoshare 2025, Central and Eastern Europe’s largest technology conference, winners of two prestigious startup competitions were announced: the international Startup Contest and the inaugural Gdańsk Startup Award.

The main Startup Contest prize of €20,000 was awarded to InSimili from Italy for its revolutionary biotech solution replicating human microenvironments in vitro. Second and third place went to Exoheal (Germany) and Rilemo (Italy), respectively. But the spotlight also turned local, as the Gdańsk Startup Award debuted with six finalists, culminating in wins for Outline AI and Poliglotter.

International winners: biotech, robotics, and diagnostics

The 12th Startup Contest, with prizes funded by the City of Gdańsk, saw unusually strong representation from outside Poland.

  • 1st prize (€20,000): InSimili (Italy) – building in vitro tech to replicate human tissue environments for drug discovery

  • 2nd prize (€7,000): Exoheal (Germany) – world’s first exoskeleton glove for post-paralysis hand rehabilitation

  • 3rd prize (€3,000): Rilemo (Italy) – monitoring devices for fluid retention disorders

Gdańsk Startup Award: Local innovation shines

The inaugural Gdańsk-only startup competition, supported by InvestGDA and Inkubator Starter, awarded:

  • 1st prize (PLN 20,000): Outline AI

  • 2nd prize (PLN 10,000): Poliglotter

Presented by Gdańsk mayor Aleksandra Dulkiewicz, the award celebrates startups with both local roots and global ambitions.

Outline AI: Demystifying property development

Founded by Jan Cudzik, a researcher at Gdańsk University of Technology, Outline AI offers a platform that assesses the development potential of land plots. By analyzing zoning laws, technical conditions, and planning data, it helps investors instantly understand what can be built and visualize it in 3D—without needing architectural knowledge.

“We’re creating a tool that takes seconds to analyze a property’s value. Our clients are in 19 countries, and this win will help us expand sales and visibility,” said Cudzik.

Operating for five years from Gdańsk Science and Technology Park, the startup now employs 50 people and has recently moved from R&D into global commercialization.

Poliglotter: Learn languages through Netflix

Poliglotter, the runner-up, offers a Chrome extension overlaying Netflix with an AI-assisted language learning tool. Instead of full translations, it leaves selected foreign phrases untranslated and on-screen, helping viewers learn through context and repetition. AI adjusts difficulty dynamically, reinforcing retention.

“We want to preserve the joy of watching while adding educational value,” said co-founder Michał Waldman. Built by four friends working from a shared apartment, Poliglotter is still in beta and aims to gather feedback before expanding.

The project has been live only since February but already shows promising traction with early adopters. It’s currently available for free on desktop Chrome browsers.

Infoshare 2025, held at AmberExpo in Gdańsk, welcomed thousands of tech enthusiasts, investors, and founders. This year marked the 19th edition of the event, and the first time the city spotlighted local talent through a dedicated Gdańsk startup award.
